Administrators can retrieve the journal reports to better understand the filtering process. You must have a tenant administrator account to perform this task.
- Sign in to Office 365 Security & Compliance.
- Click on Mail flow > Message trace on the left menu.
- Get the message ID
- Click on Start a trace
- Complete the search criterias
- Click on Search
- The window Message trace search results is displayed.
- Click on the message
- The window Message trace details is displayed.
- Copy the ID from the More information part.
- Get the journal report.
- Start a new message tracking.
- Paste the ID in the message ID field under the More search options part.
You can now check whether the logging process has been carried out correctly.
